Furnace Cleaning in Chula Vista, CA

What a furnace cleaning actually involves

Power goes off at the disconnect first. Gas valve closed. The blower door comes off, then the blower assembly slides out. Each squirrel-cage blade gets brushed and vacuumed. Caked dust on those blades kills airflow quietly. Burners come out next for brushing. The flame sensor gets scuffed clean with abrasive cloth. We look over the heat exchanger with a mirror and light, check flue draft, and vacuum the burner compartment floor.

Local dirt behaves in a specific way. Fine dry dust and decomposed-granite grit loads the blower all through the dry season. Spring oak and chaparral pollen adds to it. Olive and pepper add more. Palm pollen comes year-round. Homes with undersized returns pull harder and collect faster. Filter neglect is routine here because people think about the system only in a cold snap.

Where the furnace sits changes the job. Attic units in homes built after roughly 1985 sit beside sagging flex duct and loose boots, so attic insulation fiber gets pulled in. Closet and garage units in postwar slab ranches are tighter to reach. Near the bay, salt and marine humidity leave corrosion on cabinet screws and burner ports.

A furnace that short-cycles or smells scorched needs diagnosis, not just cleaning. We will say so.
