HVAC Duct Cleaning in Chula Vista, CA

Why Chula Vista ducts load up with dust in the first place

The dirt here is the cause. Decomposed-granite grit and fine dry dust travel all summer. Returns pull it in. Undersized returns pull harder. Add spring oak, chaparral and grass pollen, plus ornamental olive, pepper and palm shedding year-round. Wildfire ash settles in attics and gets drawn through leaky joints. Nothing about this is a filter failure alone. It is a long dry season and a house that breathes through its ductwork.

Construction decides the rest. Homes built after roughly 1985 run insulated flex duct through the attic. Flex sags between supports. It compresses at bends. Boots pull loose and attic insulation fibers ride in. Those attics hit 130–150°F. Older slab-on-grade postwar ranches have galvanized trunk and branch. Some 1950s–60s East County houses have under-slab runs. Those collect silt, rust and moisture. Cleaning them is a different conversation entirely.

Crawlspace runs in pre-war and hillside homes are where we find rodent and insect debris. Loose joints draw crawlspace dust directly. Near the coast, salt and marine air corrode register faces and sustain microbial film on cold supply plenums.

Most homes here do fine on a three-to-five-year interval. Dirt-road, equestrian, post-fire, pets or a recent remodel shortens that considerably.
